DNA Is Complex

TOO COMPLEX TO HAVE EVOLVED

Our DNA is often compared to a computer program providing instructions for building the human body. I write computer code, and computer programs can be incredibly complex. If it were a computer program DNA would be the largest and most complex computer program ever written. Just to write out the information contained in the human genome would fill the equivalent of 850 bibles. Wow! I find it impossible to believe that letters could randomly come together to correctly create God's word in just one Bible! To do that 850 times is absurd... and that's what evolution is... absurd.

But with DNA that is just the first dimension of complexity, there are three more. DNA is A LOT more complex than the most advanced computer program. The second level is the DNA dynamically interacts with other components in the cell. Basically you could say the DNA knows what's gong on around it... and that leads to the third dimension... DNA changes to adapt to what's happening. As conditions change DNA will change, producing different proteins to deal with different situations.

The fourth dimension is the 3D shape of DNA.. DNA is folded into a 3D shape. This means some parts of the DNA are "inside" the 3D shape, and as a result are not functional. As conditions change the DNA will refold into a different shape, bringing sequences from the inside to the outside where they become functional. How does DNA do this? How does it know how to refold to bring out just the right segments to produce the needed proteins. The complexity of DNA is mind-boggling, way beyond anything we could design, and totally impossible to have come about by random mutations. Impossible!

The following is an excellent video that explains this much better than I can. When you know even just this little bit about DNA, you can not help but think "Romans 1." The more we learn, the more we see God's invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature as we look at His creation.

Astonishing DNA Complexity Uncovered (CMI)

The above article was written in 2007 and is packed with good information. But in 2007 we were just learning that junk DNA is not junk. Today genetics and microbiology have progressed far beyond this, revealing a still greater complexity. For example, it has now been shown that there are preprogrammed "mutations" build into DNA. When faced with certain conditions the DNA will quickly mutate, bringing about designed changes that will be inhereted by the next generation.

THE GOOD NEWS

The Good News

Before you get the good news, you need to know the bad news. It's about you. God says:

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. - Romans 3:23

Sin means disobeying God, aka breaking God's law. God is perfect and perfection is required to enter heaven. It's a standard none of us can achieve. We all fall short. For example, compare yourself with just one of the Ten Commandments. Have you ever told a lie?

All liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. - Revelation 21:8. Or what about:

Have you ever taken something that does not belong to you, no matter how small? Have you ever looked at another person with lust? In Matthew 5 Jesus said:

Everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.' Have you done that?

You have broken God's laws. You have sinned. There must be justice, and that means eternity in hell, the lake of fire, the second death. Unless...

Unless there was someone willing to pay that penalty on your behalf. Someone who will take on themselves the consequences you deserve. And there is. There is one person who can and will do that. That person is Jesus Christ. If you trust this is true (believe), and repent (turn away from disobeying God), Jesus' death is applied to your account and you are freed from the penalty of sin to be with God forever.
