A Scientific Dissent From Darwinism

Yes, Darwin Was Wrong!

Darwinian evolution has been proven wrong several times. The first time was in the early 20th century.

Darwin thought that life evolved through what is known as Lamarkian processes. He believed the environment directly acted on life forms to change them to be better adapted. The typical example is the question: how did the giraffe get its long neck? According to classical Darwinism, the giraffe would stretch it's neck to reach leaves higher and higher up in trees. The physical stretching of the giraffe's neck, as it tried to reach higher, became a physical trait that was passed down to their offspring. In the early 20th century this was proven to be impossible, and Neo-Darwinism (new darwinism) replaced classical Darwinism. This IS NOT what scientists today are talking about.

By the 1960's it was becoming increasingly evident that Neo-Narwinism failed also. However, there are no alternatives and the major "benefit" that results from belief in Darwinism (that there is no God) was too significant to abandon. So skepticism was suppressed through intimidation and control of the educational system... and the common person's belief in Neo-Darwinsim continued. However, scientists working in fields that evolution touches were growing more and more skeptical. The facts were not adding up. Life is too complex to have evolved through mutation and natural selection. It was impossible for even a simple, single-cell organism to have evolved, let alone more complex multi-cell life forms such as rhombozoans or worms.

That evolution is scientifically impossible became known as the "dirty little secret" of science. It was spoken of behind closed doors at scientific conferences, and occasionally a paper challenging Darwinian evolution would appear in a scientific journal. But these doubts were usually kept from the general public. But not always... For example in 1997 Richard Lewontin (an evolutionary biologist) wrote the following in a NY Times review of a Carl Sagan book:

"Our willingness to accept scientific claims that are against common sense is the key to an understanding of the real struggle between science and the supernatural. We take the side of science in spite of the patent absurdity of some of its constructs, in spite of its failure to fulfill many of its extravagant promises of health and life, in spite of the tolerance of the scientific community for unsubstantiated just-so stories, because we have a prior commitment, a commitment to materialism."

"It is not that the methods and institutions of science somehow compel us to accept a material explanation of the phenomenal world, but, on the contrary, that we are forced by our a priori adherence to material causes to create an apparatus of investigation and a set of concepts that produce material explanations, no matter how counter-intuitive, no matter how mystifying to the uninitiated."

"Moreover, that materialism is absolute, for we cannot allow a Divine Foot in the door.".

In other words, over 20 years ago in the 1990's it was known that there was no scientific evidence that leads to a belief in evolution. Belief in evolution is not based on facts. Belief in evolution is based on denying God.

This has led to a situation in which belief in Darwinian evolution is a major hindrance to science. And the scientific evidence showing that Darwinian evolution is impossible has become so overwhelming it can no longer be ignored. This led to groups such as the "Third Way" (www.thethirdwayofevolution.com/) forming in 2014. These are scientists who know Darwinian evolution is impossible, yet they cannot accept God, so they are looking for a third way. The latest is a group of scientists who are over 1000 strong and are called The Dissent from Darwin (dissentfromdarwin.org). The following statement is on their home page:

"Darwinian evolutionary theory was my field of specialization in biology. Among other things, I wrote a textbook on the subject thirty years ago. Meanwhile, however I have become an apostate from Darwinian theory and have described it as part of modernism’s origination myth. Consequently, I certainly agree that biology students at least should have the opportunity to learn about the flaws and limits of Darwin’s theory while they are learning about the theory’s strongest claims." - Dr. Stanley Salthe, Professor Emeritus, Brooklyn College of the City University of New York

What Do Secular Scientists Say?

A growing number of secular scientists have seen the Darwinian Evolution is impossible. They have formed a number of organizations that are searching for a "third way," meaning something that is not based on Darwin nor does it acknowledge God. Here is the opening paragraph from one of their web sies (www.thethirdwayofevolution.com). Notice that they clearly lay out a factual basis for Neo-Darwinism being impossible:

"The vast majority of people believe that there are only two alternative ways to explain the origins of biological diversity. One way is Creationism that depends upon intervention by a divine Creator. That is clearly unscientific because it brings an arbitrary supernatural force into the evolution process. The commonly accepted alternative is Neo-Darwinism, which is clearly naturalistic science but ignores much contemporary molecular evidence and invokes a set of unsupported assumptions about the accidental nature of hereditary variation. Neo-Darwinism ignores important rapid evolutionary processes such as symbiogenesis, horizontal DNA transfer, action of mobile DNA and epigenetic modifications. Moreover, some Neo-Darwinists have elevated Natural Selection into a unique creative force that solves all the difficult evolutionary problems without a real empirical basis. Many scientists today see the need for a deeper and more complete exploration of all aspects of the evolutionary process."

Notice that they bring up multiple categories of science that demonstrate Neo-Darwinism (New Darwinism) is not a viable alternative. When you to into consideration all of the facts, evolution could not have happened. It is not only scientifically impossible, it is a contradiction of scripture.

Darwinian Evolution Is Dead

Darwinian evolution has been scientifically dead for decades, but that fact is just now becoming widely known. The search is on for an alternative that retains the characteristic of denying God. But there is none. God tells us what He did and how He did it when He created everything... including you. And that's the point. God is denied because: since He created you, that means you belong to Him. But, there is more to it than that. He created you IN HIS IMAGE. That means you are responsible for accurately representing who God is. As His image bearer you are to have some of the characteristics of God. And if you don't accurately reflect who God is (for example the Ten Commandments describe the character of God), you deserve the just punishment of eternal hell.

The Problem Is, We All Fail

Here's the good news. God is love. He knows that it is impossible for you to perfectly reflect His character. He even gave you a conscience that reveals this fact to you. So God, in His love, mercy, and grace, gave you a way out. He gave us His Son to die on the cross and take on Himself the full wrath (full justice) of God for every way you have violated God's character. (How many lies have you told? Liar. Have you ever taken something that does not belong to you? Thief. Have you ever looked at another person with lust? Then you have committed adultery in your heart.) Jesus died to pay your penalty for disobeying God. Then, demonstrating that everything God promised is true, His Son rose from the dead on the third day! Yes! There truly is life after dead. True life! If you accept this free gift, if you believe it is true, this gift is yours.

Trust Jesus to be true, not Darwin.
